Tap Into A Kaleidoscope Of Colors This Christmas

By Courtney Warren

BOLD AND BRIGHT

Red and green at Christmas go together like turkey and dressing, chips and queso, and watching the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day. But every year, the stores tempt me with adorable new decor ideas that make me want to switch things up. Here’s some color palette inspiration to deck your halls this season.

Sprinkle a little sparkle like these mini trees on a mantle. For a bolder look, I decorated the white tree in my dining room with some vintage Santa’s in a rainbow of hues. Don’t be afraid to use non-ornament tree decor. Instead of ornament hooks, I just secured my Santa figures on the tree with zip ties. Once they were on the tree, I fluffed branches to conceal the plastic.

BLUSH, NAVY, AND CHAMPAGNE

You decorate your home with your favorite colors, so why not trim the tree to match? Last year, when my favorite store asked me to decorate a tree for them, I used my home as inspiration. I used navy and metallics, then paired them with blush and champagne accents. It was fun to use non-traditional colors in a traditional way.

BLACK, WHITE, AND A TOUCH OF RED

Black for Christmas? You bet! Black is timeless. And paired with classic white and a touch of Christmas red, you’ll have a unique twist to celebrate the season.

RED, WHITE, AND GREEN

How about a tree with vintage touches like “blow molds,” those old-school painted plastic outdoor decorations hung among your ornaments? If vintage is not your style, this could be anything large and eye-catching.

Not into using ribbon for your tree? Display an advent countdown made of mini stockings. Tired of the traditional tree topper? Make a bold statement with a large Santa face or a festive floral spray.

Get all your spaces in on the fun with fresh greenery on kitchen island lights or use them to anchor the sides of a holiday display.

Your home and tree are blank canvases just waiting for your self-expression. Don’t be afraid to shake things up this year. Share your Christmas colors with us on Instagram or Facebook @courtneywarrenhome, and we will share some of the best-submitted trees and decor throughout the month.
