Let's Make Mental Health a Priority in 2025

By Meredith Knight

For many of us, the holidays brought added anxiety. Attending parties, shopping for gifts, traveling, spending time with extended family, not to mention the financial stress of all of the above can easily lead to depression and anxiety. Now, it’s the new year and the perfect time to reevaluate where you are in life, commit to caring for your wellbeing, and prioritize your mental health.

Fortunately, we live in a time when the importance of mental health is increasingly recognized and openly discussed with care more accessible than ever. Connections Wellness Group has led the way in this positive shift and is now making mental health even more accessible by offering in-person counseling services, online counseling services (teletherapy), and hybrid models combining in-person therapy and teletherapy.

With teletherapy, Connections Wellness clients are able to receive counseling from a licensed mental health professional from the comfort and security of their home. Telehealth services are convenient and cost-effective and enable you to receive the counseling you need without having to travel to an office helping you make your mental health the priority it should be.

Connections Wellness online counseling services come to you via a secure, confidential video link established through high-speed internet, allowing you to conduct a visit with your therapist, doctor, or psychiatrist via your PC, laptop, tablet, or mobile phone as long as you’re in a quiet, private space. Instead of waiting weeks or months to see a therapist, telehealth makes it possible to connect with the care you need in 48 hours and to see that therapist as often as you need going forward.

Teletherapy services allow Connections Wellness counselors to reach individuals living busy lives, (and who isn’t?) individuals affected by symptoms that make it difficult for them to leave their home, and individuals living in rural areas where mental-health services may not be accessible. Through teletherapy, these individuals receive the same services they would receive in person, except through an online tele-video platform.

This tele-video platform can be utilized for group therapy providing a safe, structured, virtual environment for people with similar life experiences whether they’re dealing with general mental health such as depression and anxiety, dual diagnosis, substance use disorders, trauma, or are members of Front Line, Connection Wellness’ first-responder group.

Teletherapy is also available for Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) clients as well including individual and family sessions, medication management, and group therapy. Telehealth clients have access to a registered nurse and there’s a school component for children, so parents never have to choose between their child’s mental health and their education.
