Procedure Pondering
Are you plasticurious? That is, curious about new advancements and options in plastic surgery? Learn about the latest techniques and procedures to help you put your best face forward this holiday season.
Technological advancements usher in new innovations and make the once impossible possible. But these advancements aren’t always about developing new procedures. Often, they result in improving approaches to the old ones. Here’s the scoop on the latest tech in cosmetic procedures:
Nonsurgical Nose Job. Until recently, all rhinoplasty procedures required surgery. This innovation is one of the most exciting developments in recent years. It’s minimally invasive, gives instant results, and with little downtime. The plastic surgeon injects fillers to reshape your nose, providing immediate, transformative results. Not sure if you want a permanent change? Then this is for you because the result is temporary, usually lasting six months to a year, depending on the individual.
Endoscopic Facelift. With endoscopic facelifts, the surgeon creates small 4mm-5mm incisions above and behind the ear. These incisions allow the surgeon to use an endoscope to complete each required piece of the facelift. Unlike traditional facelifts, there’s minimal to no noticeable scarring, minimal risk of complications, such as permanent facial numbing, and allows the surgeon to customize the procedure to address your specific needs and concerns.
SmartLipo Liposuction. SmartLipo provides a safer, minimally invasive technique for removing unwanted pockets of fat. Traditional liposuction removes fat in its solid form using a larger cannula. With SmartLipo, the physician uses specialized laser technology to melt fat away and remove it in liquid form with a tiny cannula, which means there’s no scarring. This procedure results in much lower levels of trauma to the body, and recovery time is much faster. Another benefit is that the lasers used help tighten the skin tissue in the treated areas.
Injectable Cellulite Treatment. It’s estimated that 85% of women have cellulite, which gives the skin an orange-peel look. The FDA recently approved a new in-office option for getting rid of stubborn cellulite. Endo Aesthetics produces this new product — brand name Qwo — which is the first and only injectable treatment for moderate-to-severe cellulite in the buttocks area. Qwo releases the fibrous bands that cause cellulite by enzymatically targeting the specific type of collagen that creates cellulite’s appearance.
In addition to these options, several others are currently in clinical trials. These high-tech options have the potential to transform every aspect of your life — not just the visible ones.
